I’m happy to announce that we’ve partnered with PBS to bring you Sewing With Nancy on the PBS app for the iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch! The app is free; all you need is an Internet connection/Wi-Fi to watch the latest episodes. The videos have been specially built for the iPad screen; we hope you think they look terrific.
The initial setup process is a little wonky—it requires you to “localize” the app to Wisconsin Public Television, where I record the show. We’re working with PBS to make this better, but for now here’s how to get my show on your iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch anywhere in the U.S.:
- After you’ve installed the app, click “select station” in the upper left corner.
- Select “Find by Zip” and enter 54481. (This may not be your zip code, but please use it for now!)
- Select “Over the Air” and then click the Wisconsin Public Television logo.
- In the left column menu, choose the “Programs” icon (third down) and scroll down to Sewing With Nancy.
- You’re all set!
iPhone or iPod touch users download the app
- After you’ve installed the app, click “More” in the bottom right corner and then the “Settings” tab at the top.
- Click “Select New Station.” In the upper left corner you’ll see a link titled “Location.” Click that.
- Click the “Find By Zip” link and enter 54481. (This may not be your zip code, but please use it for now!)
- Scroll to the bottom to select “Over the Air” and then click WPT 38.
- You’re all set! In the bottom menu, choose “Programs” and scroll down to Sewing With Nancy.
You always have the option to remove the WPT localization, or choose your local PBS station.
Please give it a whirl and let me know what you think!
Or watch Sewing With Nancy online.
Bye for now,

I love the app but wish the iPad would have true iPad performance to use the large screen without having to press the 2x, which makes it a little blurry. I was surprised because I clicked where it said for iPad users to click to download it,
Seems odd that we do get Sewing With Nancy on our local PBS stations but we don’t list it. I tried my daughters’ zipcodes and it isn’t listed with their local PBS station programs either. I only find it using the 54481 for the Wisconsin PBS, which I believe is Nancy’s local PBS.
Love being able to see thwm in my iPad. Will free DVT space because I have been recording them! This show is wonderful!

There is a true iPad app for PBS. The problem is that the link that’s labeled for iPad users actually goes to the iPod one. Try searching in the app store.
I just found you and so glad I did! Love watching your tips!
Also an Android user. How about an android app for the rest of us. Thanks
How can I get it for my Blackberry!
Works great on my iPhone and very easy to install. Now the problem is finding time to follow through on all the creative ideas. Certainly no time to be bored!
I got very excited about this – but then itunes spoilt my day. It’s only available in the US. Hopefully one day your British fans will get to see too.
Yes, you’re right, only the US has the first rights to the program. Maybe it will change! Sorry.
Sure wish it was available for the Android
It does not work heer in Germany. Rallye sad.
Anita,
PBS in the United States has exclusive rights to the program for the first two years. As you have experienced, the app does not work outside the US.
Thank you so much, Nancy! I just installed it on my iPad and am thrilled.
I hate to ask stupid questions, but where do I get eh app? Went to the app store and my search shows they don’t have it. What am I doing wrong, please?
Please follow the instructions within the blog on how to download the app. Since we’re still in the trial stage, there are a few more steps than usual. But, I am sure if you follow the numbered steps, you’ll be set to watch Sewing With Nancy on an iPad, iPod Touch, or iPhone.
This is terrific! I cannot wait to watch on my iPad!
I just watched an episode on my iPad and it worked perfectly. Thank you for making it possible. This app will come in handy for long airplane flights!
