Seams Unlikely Autobiography by Nancy ZiemanGoogle made me do it! That’s the reason I wrote my autobiography, Seams Unlikely! It all started after searching Google to see what was listed under my name. “Nancy Zieman Stroke, Nancy Zieman Face, Nancy Zieman Smile” were some of the top searched hits. After picking my ego up from the floor, I realized that Sewing With Nancy viewers had every right to be curious as to why my face is asymmetrical! So to tell the story of my unique journey, Seams Unlikely was pieced together.

Nancy Zieman 4-H Dress '69Join me for a Special Seams Unlikely Book Launch Event, Saturday, February 15, 2014

Good Luck with your book. But, I already knew that Bell’s Palsy was the reason for the asymetrical face, my husband had that. To me, you are very beautiful; and I used to love your show for the inspiration when I was lucky enough to stay at home. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, and I hope I am able to view your show again.

Your story sounds awesome. You are an inspiration in spite of what happened in your life and how you over came. May you continue to be an inspiration to others in spite of the odds. This again shows that anybody can achieve their goals and can do anything you want in your life.

Nancy, I applaud you. I haven’t read your book yet, but I will. Although you are a beautiful woman, you are the perfect example of “what matters most is what is on the inside”. Your character, integrity, drive, and humanity are examples for all.

I have the same exact thing Nancy.. I KNOW YOUR PAIN and your journey!! I’ve had that stuff twice.. the first time I got over it, the second time I didn’t.. but all is good.. I’d stand in this line of affliction all over again.. it’s not fun, it’s not pretty, but I’m not dead from it.. and it won’t kill me.. IT”S JUST MADE ME THAT MUCH STRONGER!!! 🙂
I will have to find a copy of it somewheres… I look forward to reading it, straight from youuuuuuuu!!!

Nancy, it truly is just the nature of the beast (especially us Pandora women;) to be curious. I can only imagine what life must have been like growing up. As a mother of a son with a childhood disability, I know there were difficult times fitting in, but with much love and the support of a small town, he grew into a young man whom you would never expect had any difficulties, with one exception: he has amazing empathy for others. I see the same thing in you, and the stories and projects you cover often leave me in tears, ready and eager to help those with less. May this book bring many blessings to you and others as well. God bless you!

I am looking forward to the book even though I know the story. The picture of you by the stairs reminds me of the Vogue pattern for a dress I made just like that many years ago.

Congratulations on you upcoming book release!

I’ve been following your television program for years wishing above all else that I had your skill set/talent. I took me years of viewing your program along with others to finally tackle my hesitation to begin. Thank you for all your hints and tips; the carefully laid out processes from start to finish; showing us how advantageous a serging machine might be (some day maybe I’ll have one but right now I’m okay with what I have). I love the guests you bring to your show but above all I appreciate you and all your inspiration.

See you on your next show.

Honestly, didn’t get it at first! Stroke? Smile? Thank you for all you have done for the world of sewing! Looking forward to learning more about you! 🙂

I had a brian tumor 25 years ago that left the right side of my face pretty useless. My Mom found Sewing With Nancy on TV and assured me that if YOU could get up in front of a bazillion people, surely I could adjust. Thanks for that spark and thanks to my Mom for helping me to think of the following years as Bonus Years. Here’s to those of us that smile with our hearts and half of our face!!
Congratulations with a heart felf smile, Anita

I have a brother with the similar affliction, only from polio. I saw through the physical disability and it has been a life long love. When I watch your shows, it is the same. What disability? You are an amazing woman. Your accomplishment to start an educational program, just being a woman, when that in and of itself was unheard of back then is such an accomplishment. Many kudos to you and I hope you continue in your successes in many more years to come. I record every one of your shows. They are truly inspiring. That’s because they are the works of a truly inspiring woman!

Nancy Congratulations! I for one am so very thankful for you and your show(+the SWN team) which has given me a new lease on life and talents that I will continue to grow! I just recieved my SWN Mega Pack of videos “sew” I can continue my learning at home. Very much looking forward to seeing you at Sewing Expo in Puyallup, Wa this year and get my personally signed book. Fantastic!!!! After reading this information I promptly went to Nancy’s Notions and ordered a copy of your book. What a sweetheart of a deal around Valentine’s Day and it will last longer than flowers or candy and will be inspirational. I can’t wait to get my autographed copy. The only way for it to be better was if I was at your reception, got to meet you and have my copy of your book signed in person. Hope it will be a best seller. I will definitely tell all my sewing friends to buy a copy. Congratulations!!

Congrats to you & the lucky 100 who will be at the book launch! When I opened the email, I was hoping this would be a live-streaming-video-participation event, but no matter. Your book was on my Christmas wishlist, and my secret Santa gave me the preorder promise — BEFORE I found out about the autographed copies available through your website! Guess that means I’ll have to find a way to see you in person again! Thank you for all you’ve done & for all you are!

I also am a person with a strange smile…. But mine was the result of being beaten. All history now and life is great and husband is incredibly wonderful! But reading your book info made me think about a beautiful granddaughter I have who seems to be having trouble with her self confidence… She is beautiful black in a white area and I’m not sure if that might be part of her problem (kids can be so mean!). In any case, you have provided inspiration to work with her from a new aspect (NOT that being black is to be overcome or ignored!) but that being kind, being interested, being herself without apology is the way to go. Thanks for the wakeup call!
