Suitable Fabrics—moderate stretch knits (35% crosswise stretch): Ponte knit, cotton knit, novelty knit, fleece.
Mix and Match Styles
Pants E and Top C: For a casual spring/summer look, pair cropped pants in Style E with a 3/4-length top, Style C in bright moderate-stretch knits.

For years I loved sewing my own clothes and also for my three daughters…then life got very hectic, and I got diverted. Now at age 70, I’d love to resume practicing that beloved skill again, and this basic pattern looks like a fun place to start.

I added this pattern to my “Wish” list. This is a great pattern for me. Nancy always made sewing easy and less complicated. The cardigan looks a lot like another one from Nancy that I made. I’m glad to see it again because it is my FAVORITE! And I need to make a new one. Like the waistband on the skirt and pants too.
After purchasing Nancy’s fitting book and dvd and then watching her you tube videos on knits I finally feel like sewing for myself is possible. Sewing in my first flat insert knit sleeve I kept replaying Nancy’s voice in my head saying “trust me this works”.
