What nice fabric choices! I’d love to make some of these for fall but I’d probably shorten them since I’m shorter and can get overwhelmed when I wear tunics this long.

My preferred fabric to sew is knit especially for garments. I have been sewing them since the 1970’s when I found Stretch ‘N Sew. Believe it or not, I’m still wearing one of the dresses I made in the early 80’s out of cotton knit (my absolute favorite). I stay away from anything with polyester in it, if at all possible, because it doesn’t breathe and I get too hot in it. This tunic idea is very intriguing, and I like that tunics are really in style right now. They look so comfortable and would be great in knit!

While watching this episode showing Nancy’s tips for sewing this particular tunic, the question came up as to why can’t this V-insert on the tunic be applied to any V-neckline, thus, eliminating the need for cutting extra facings by merely adjusting a seam? The way that V-insert was done with the extra addition of that point and folding it up was awesome.
I haven’t been able to figure it out, but I’m not a designer. Just an idea for a quicker, simpler way to face V-necklines would be quite a discovery.
