What a fantastic pattern! I wonder how it would look with the insets in a contrasting fabric?

    November 17, 2018

I had not noticed the inset panels on this tunic and sailed right past this pattern. Glad to see the details here. My holiday fashion sewing is certainly not fancy – making pants for the winter. Mostly denims and I would like to try lining with flannel. This tunic would be a great coordinate to layer with other tops and cardigans.

  • Carol Larsen
    November 17, 2018

My holiday sewing will be for my Dad. He is 91, in assisted living. A long time ago I used to make him flannel shirts, it is drafty in some areas of the facility. While he has Woolrich ones, there is still nothing like a beautifully finished one that fits like a glove. He deserves the best, I hope my long languishing sewing skills are still what they used to be…

  • Margaret Scott

Making various keychains for gifts. Wooden beads that look like little dolls, some to hold chapstick, or other designs like flowers or houses, hearts … just depends on the person I’m making it for.

  • Patricia Connell
    November 17, 2018

I started sewing as a 4-H member many years ago and had the opportunity to teach beginning sewing as an adult. The first machine was a Singer followed by many other machines. Over the years sewing for four boys was a must – underwear, PJs, mittens, made from old sweaters, pants and jackets. As they grew up I made a dress for each of their weddings. Today I have a wonderful embroidery machine that I use to make seasonal gifts and make quilts for the grandchildren as they graduate from high school. I have just two more to go out of eleven. I still like to make clothes, and the tunic pattern caught my eye, a great Christmas gift for the ladies in my life! I hope to pass the love of sewing on to my granddaughters!

  • Delores

I love this pattern! I am so glad you have continued designing patterns with Nancy’s name. What a tribute to her. I have two big things I want to get done for Christmas, a tote and a new Christmas Tree skirt. I have the fabric for both, just need to get to sewing! Thanks for the opportunity to win this awesome pattern!

I am working on quilts to give as gifts to my children and grandchildren. With limited time to sew, we may be having Christmas in July! This dress/tunic pattern is just what I need because of my time crunch.

My holiday sewing right now consists of making items for a holiday craft fair at our local hospital. After that, I hope to be able to complete a vest for one of my grandchildren. I would love to try out this latest Nancy Zieman pattern. It looks like it is just my style. Thanks for the opportunity to compete for it.

Starting with embroidery for a Cmas swap, then will make something for each of the grands. Would love to have this pattern, as I can see so many style possibilities for it!

I have just finished sewing matching holiday pillowcases for the whole family. I often make pajama bottoms and other homemade gifts on the sewing machine.i an thinking of starting a quilt soon. Bit now I think I will get a copy of this Pattern and sew myself three shirts…a gift to myself this year! So pretty.

I love this tunic, especially cute with leggings. I have just finished making six sets of wine glass coasters as gifts for my wine drinking girlfriends. Each set of six has different colors, to match the tastes and colors that I hope the girls will love.

I am interested in making this dress for Christmas. I do wear alot of tunics and leggings, but for Holiday, I like to wear a dress and this truly fits the bill! I can dress it up and dress casually as well. Thank you for posting this and thanks for continuing Nancy’s dream…

All or most of my gifts are always home sewn. That way I know they won’t already have it and the gifts are made from the heart and special for each person. I don’t want to say what they will be and give away the surprise!

I don’t have plans to sew for myself at all but my figure is changing and I am getting desperate as I outgrow my clothes. I am going to HAVE to sew something that will fit and flatter me. I need to start somewhere.

In recent years most of my sewing has been quilts and home dec projects but I am getting back into sewing garments as I haven’t found anything in ready to wear that I like or is age appropriate! I like the detailing on this new tunic pattern and can’t wait to try it!

My sewing skills basically are as a quilter / bag maker / craft items, though I am really trying to conquer clothing. In particular fitting.
This new tunic pattern is exactly what I was looking for. I’m still self conscious in leggings so having an achievable pattern that I can make sure is long enough to cover my “assets” is an answer to my problems. So many ready made tunics are poorly made of too thin material or cost a king’s ransom.
Thank you for providing a way I can make a couple solid color tunics( 3 actually: burgundy, red and black) for Holiday wear!

I’m interested in making this tunic to wear with skinny pants, tho a dress (longer than the l9ngest one shown) could be a nice outfit for church going. I would love to have this pattern.
My Christmas sewing this year will be limited to flannel nighties for two granddaughters.

I’m hoping to do some presents with some special pieces of my mom’s wardrobe, to remember her by. She died last year on Nov. 14th. I also hope to take apart a leather jacket of my daughter’s & make her a purse. She loved that jacket, but when certain things happen to leather, the only thing to do is to try to salvage as much as you can. I’m very big into mend for reuse, re-purpose, take it apart & use the best pieces, use it for rags after you have removed anything re-useable from it, etc. My mom went through the Great Depression & was 92 when she died. She taught us a lot about surviving well on little!

Happy Day – a pattern that is good for everyone – and especially us older ladies that don’t quite relate to some of the patterns I see in the books these days. This one had so many possibles. I am not into leggins but need a new dress for Church and lengthening this pattern looks like the answer to my needs/wants. Do so miss Nancy!!!
