Both views are cute but I prefer the Black & white. It would be very nice on one of my thin granddaughters or their mothers.

I would like to make View A. I need to start making clothes for myself, already have the perfect fabric.

  • Paula
    May 26, 2018

Both views are great, but I would make view B because my fabric stash does t include yardage just smaller lengths. I would need to color block.

  • Sallie
    May 26, 2018

Love the versatility of this pattern! I’d make View B first – love the contrast – but I know I’ll also make View A too.

  • Karen
    May 26, 2018

I’d love to make view B first as I love color block tops but also like view A as a revised classic button-down shirt that I grew up with! Love the buttons on the back along with the vent! It seems like a perfect pattern! We miss you Nancy!

  • Jackie
    May 26, 2018

View A would be my choice. It has wearing ease, but is stylish enough that it doesn’t fall into “comfy.” It’s nice to have something for summer that doesn’t feature bare arms!

  • Kathleen Waite
    May 26, 2018

Love this pattern, especially view B. I’m taking a break from Quilting to make clothes again and this will be fun to sew.

  • Patti
    May 26, 2018

I like the black and white version the best. It is more flattering because of the dark fabrics used in the middle and the white on the sides. It is something I would make for myself.

First A then B….this is for my daughter who is a hard working Mom with a very busy life with four children. She needs a blouse that is so easy to move in and flattering to the figure too. Thanks Nancy, and everyone on the Nancy team.

  • Glynn Martin
    May 26, 2018

  • Andrea Letourneau
    May 26, 2018

View A for sure; I like the subtlety. The AC at work is always too low, so I need something with sleeves even during the hottest weather. View B maybe in drapey fabric for dressier occasions.

View A is absolutely adorable. I would love to make this blouse hoping there are adjustments for a petite figure. This style can be worn by almost all age groups as well as figures. Thank you to the Nancy team for finishing this pattern for McCalls.

I would probably try A for summer and then maybe B later in the year

    May 27, 2018

I’d like to try view A using fabric from old men’s shirts. I love to remake things — more interesting fabrics!

  • Mary Nasvik
    May 27, 2018

I’d make view A first to see how it fits then B for something dressier. I’m not a “dressy ” type of person but I could make it casual dressy. I really miss Nancy even though her show is still on TV.

Being short I would love the striped version I believe with smaller stripes . I believe the angles and shapes will be very flattering.
Maybe even small stripes with some small floral or parsley

I am so glad that the fitting darts are built into the sloping seams. That makes fitting all kinds of body shapes so much easier.

View A is my favorite! I am a quilter but I can see this pattern being used with some beautiful batiks. Thanks for sharing.

Love the color blocked version. I would have fun mixing colors–much like picking fabrics for a quilt.

Oh I love this shirt. And what a treat to get one last beautiful garment design from Nancy. I would sew up view B

Nancy had such a great fashion sense. I love both but will plan to make the B view. Such an awesome and classy look!

Good to see patterns in larger sizes. Even though we are larger we like to look nice too.

I LOVE BOTH DESIGNS of this Oxford style shirt. The pictures give us Seamstresses ideas on what Fabrics we would love to make for ourselves or someone else.

Love both of them. Probably would not be recognized as the same pattern!

  • Marion Blakely
    May 27, 2018

I would make A, since I am short, and I think B would be too much for my petite figure. So nice to see something new from Nancy. I really miss her. Going to Sewing Weekend in Beaver Dam wasn’t the same without her! (But I still bought a lot of stuff!)

    May 28, 2018

Definitely the view B, casual dressy, wear everywhere. I would make in drapey fabrics. I would probably do it in low contrast fabrics for me. Less is more!

I’ve learned so much from Nancy over the years. A true Icon, gone too soon.

  • Barbara Howes

It would be fun to play with View B using combinations of fabric I’ve hoarded!

I love both of the shirts! So hard to pick one as a favorite. Guess I will have to make both!!

  • Becky Kendrick
    May 28, 2018

I would definitely make view B first, out of a light teal (my favorite). I have been looking for a airy top pattern for some time and this one is exactly what I need. Love both designs.

    May 28, 2018

I have some wide striped soft linen-like fabric I’d like to make in View A. The shirt collar style reminds me so much of Nancy. My husband & I attended Sewing Weekend 2018 for the first time & had a wonderful experience! I was so sad I couldn’t come years sooner. I know it would’ve been even more special with Nancy there. Please keep her on Public T.V. I watch every episode, even though I’ve seen them multiple times, in her memory! What a special & talented lady!!

  • Margie
    May 28, 2018

I love, love, love View A! I am a size 16, but only 5 feet tall so it’s impossible to find flattering tops. I have decided, after many frustrating trips clothes shopping, that I will now make my own tops and View A would be perfect!

  • Jo
    May 28, 2018

    B for sure!

  • Pat Ricks
    May 28, 2018

I love them both but I would start with B. I watch and record all of Nancy’s shows. It is so hard to believe she is no longer here. Love and miss her. Please keep her shows on TV.

    May 28, 2018

I love the classy combination of fabrics in View B. This top is a style that is very flattering for all figure types and can be dressed up or down. It’s just what I need.

I would like to try view A . I have some pinstripe mid-weight cotton in my fabric stash that I think would work well with this pattern.

  • Terrie
    May 28, 2018

View B is my choice – you can ‘snazz’ it up for many different occasions.

  • Joyce H
    May 28, 2018

Both. A would be a great top with jeans or capris. B would be a great one for other occasions. They look so comfortable.

    May 28, 2018

I would love a copy of this pattern, even if I have to pay for it.
I have watched Nancy’s shows for most of my life, recorded them to watch after work. Hard to think of her being gone, brings tears to my eyes, still. She opened the world of sewing to legions of people, across every creed, race, and gender. God blessed us with Nancy’s Sewing w Nancy show.

I really love view A. The button detailing on the back of the shirt gives it that ‘ready-made’ look that I strive for in my sewing!

  • Linda Schafer
    May 29, 2018

I have been madly making leggings this past week and have been having trouble finding a perfect top to make for them. Style B will be just perfect. Can’t wait to get ahold of the pattern.

  • Ann C
    May 29, 2018

I would start with view A, then on to view B. Finally, I’d do one with parts of both views. This pattern is so versatile & perfect for the “plus” figure. I’ve always loved Nancy’s patterns and have several in my pattern library. Nancy is the reason I sew today; she taught me everything I know through her wonderful show. I bought MANY of her VHS tapes and now her DVD’s & I watch them over & over as well as her show on TV. I miss her so much & still cry every time I think of her. She was my ‘sewing angel’.

This is a very cute pattern. I would make view A first for an everyday top and then view B for a little dressier.

I would make both! I’ve been gathering fabric for color blocking for some time now, but would probably “practice” first with one fabric. Super cute pattern!

For us “fuller figured” ladies this pattern is a winner! View A would be my preference and a great choice for a casual Friday work look!
