The Christmas Stocking Challenge Voting Day is Here!

In my November 4 Blog Posting, readers were invited to participate in our Christmas Stocking Sewing Challenge. Each participant used a pattern from one of the stocking projects on Pellon’s website or Baby Lock’s website.

To celebrate the start of the Christmas Season, I challenged readers to sew up to three Christmas stockings—using as much creativity as they’d like. As you can see, the sewing creativity is impressive!

Vote for Your Favorite Christmas Stocking

Cast a vote for your favorite Christmas Stocking (one vote per person). Voting is open December 2–8. Let your friends know that you’re a contestant! Click on images to view larger photos.

BEAUTIFUL!!! All of them! But number 26 is my choice because it speaks about the Reason for the Season. However, number 29 really jumps out as a fantastic and close 2nd.

    Everyone did a great job!
#1 is my favorite because, that is the style I intended to do. I’ve been so busy finishing my Granddaughter’s quilt I’ve not had time to do much else.I hope all of you, including Nancy and staff have an absolutely marvelous Christmas and a blessed and prosperous New Year! ! !

Much love and detail went into each creation. Hard to decide on just one. Congratulations to all who entered! Would I be permitted to enter the stocking I made for my husband 20 years ago? It’s still hung by the chimney with care each Christmas, alongside the knitted one my mother made for me when I was a child.

I need one of those cowboy boot stockings! They were all beautiful and it was a tough decision after looking at all of them closely. The workmanship is amazing. There are a lot of lucky people receiving incredible stockings at Christmas this year!!

I cannot vote. After I pick my choice and push the vote button, a message comes up saying “You have already voted for this poll. Poll ID #4.” But I didn’t vote yet. I tried different links/locations, and also shared it to a friend and she got the same response. I want to vote for #7. Please look into this!

Although entry #1 is very nicely done, the challenge guidelines were not followed in selecting a pattern from one of the stocking projects from the one on Pellon’s website or the five on Baby Lock’s website.

Boot #1 is very creative, but if it doesn’t meet the guidelines of the contest, WHY IS IT IN COMPETITION???

I’d really like to know why this is an exception.

    Thank you!

The Boot does meet the guideline of being creative.

I too have gone a read the blog on the Christmas Stocking Sewing Challenge Guidelines. Not only does it say to be creative but it also states :

Select your pattern from one of the stocking projects on Pellon’s website or Baby Lock’s website. Search for Christmas Stocking and choose your pattern. (You’ll find two patterns at Pellon’s site and a list of five patterns at Baby Lock’s site.)

Really wish bolding would work to post here.

There were choices of patterns to be used and the Boot is not one of those patterns. Meeting just aportion of the criteria for the contest does not make it equally fair for all participants.. I found several cowboy boot stocking patterns and none of them came from Pellon ot Baby Lock.

The Boot does meet the guideline of being creative.

I too have read the Christmas Stocking Sewing Challenge Guidelines.

        One of the Guidelines states:
Select your pattern from one of the stocking projects on Pellon’s website or Baby Lock’s website. Search for Christmas Stocking and choose your pattern. (You’ll find two patterns at Pellon’s site and a list of five patterns at Baby Lock’s site.)

I have found several Cowboy Boot Stocking Patterns and none of them came from Pellon or Baby Lock.

If only a portion of the Guidelines needs to be met than why have guidelines at all???

Meeting just a portion of the criteria for the contest, does not make this contest fair for all participants that followed ALL the guidelines. If being creative means choose whatever pattern design you want then it should have been stated that way.
