There is a good chance you own a smart phone. You may be reading this blog post on your smart phone right now. The technology has really changed the way we operate and has become quite a time saver. In an effort to save you more time, we want you to have the Nancy Zieman Blog button on your smart phone. When you tap that button, which will look like a regular app, you go straight to the blog. Keep your smart phone or tablet right by the sewing machine to have all the sewing tutorials and project directions at your fingertips.
Note from Nancy: You will be able to WOW your family and friends because this trick can be done to any website. If the site has a special app image, it will show up on your home screen. If the app doesn’t have a special image, it will simply make a tiny square picture of the website homepage for your home screen.

Nancy-Zieman-Home-Screen-Shortcut-ButtonI have put together a few easy steps for you to add the home screen button to your device:

Click this link to see directions for Android phones and devices.
Click this link to see directions for iPhone and Apple devices.

Wow, don’t I feel smart! Not only do you teach sewing skills, now you teach tech!! This is going to be so handy in my sewing studio. Once again – Nancy to my rescue, teaching something I didn’t know I needed and now don’t know how I functioned without. Thanx girl.

A couple of years ago I never imagined that I would be carrying an iPhone around, much less teaming up with one of my favorite sewing inspired instructor , Nancy Zieman, anytime I want to get fabulous ideas & instructions. I say at 65, I’m not just getting older, I’m getting better lol.

Hi Nancy! Thank you for all you do for sewers, love your inspirational sewing shows. I am sad, though’ that I cannot add your app. To my phone or iPad. I live in Australia and it isn’t available here. I tried to download it from the USA App Store but that isn’t allowed either. Could you make your app. Available in Australia, please. Thanks.

Hi Nancy! Some time ago, I saw a Dresden table runner you made, and now I can’t find it. Could you tell me where I can find it? Thanks.

Some time ago you featured some one who does burial clothes for babies who don’t make it. I have a wedding gown I would like to donate. Can you please help me out?

    Nancy,
I bought fabric to make a baby quilt, when I got home I realized that I had gotten flannel fabric instead of 100% cotton. My question is it OK to use 100% cotton fabric for the backing, if so do I use a batting for the inter later?
Thank you in advance for your help

I am new at sewing and quilting. I like to make my own baby quilts for grans and great grans. I would like a different way to tie so I use a mini embroidery design to match my theme. I only have a 4×4 and it is very difficult to hoop the quilt. It works 99% of the time but then I have to really struggle on one.
    Any suggestions?
    Thank you

    HI Nancy
I have followed since I was first sewing. I want to make some fast nice looking slacks for a cruise in September. I have some ponte knits, but haven’t had stretch pants in years and not sewn any either. What are the rules for stretch pants and sizing.
    Thanks

This is heart breaking. The first time I found her program back in the 80’s I couldn’t believe that there was actually something on TV about what I loved to do so much!! She seemed like someone you could just sit right down with, have a cup of coffee, and discuss a pattern! Rest in peace- you’ve informed and influenced many.

Nancy, even after your sad passing you have once again taught another very valuable lesson for all of us viewers, sewers, quilters, and just plain human beings… I have ALWAYS wanted to and planned on attending the Sewing With Nancy Expo in Beaver Dam and never did! It was on my “bucket list” and now it is on my “regrets” list. For all of us out there, if you get the chance to do something so wonderful in life, please take this lesson with you and “just do it” with no regrets!! Thank you for still inspiring us from above beautiful Nancy Luedtke Zieman!!! You have touched, inspired and instilled your love, creativity and caring for all of us.
I did have the wonderful opportunity to meet with you in Puyallup and first discovered your immense sense of humor when I took a picture of you just as you were bending down and you looked at me and remarked that I just took your best side!! I also treasure a picture of you and me at a sewing event! THANK YOU!!

Dear Nancy, I know you are in heaven now but you will be missed. I moved from NY to Las Vegas. I tried to find your shows to record here and now I know why. Your not here.
I am so sorry to learn of your passing and have tears running down my face as I am typing. You left this world to soon and I know are missed by so many people. I learned a LOT from your shows. A lot! Thank you for all the good years of service. This morning I was reorganizing my sewing closet in your honor. Way past due. I am using all the little tricks I learned on your show.
To your family I am so sorry. A deep private personal pain for you. Enjoy each day, you only go around once.
Every day is a great day when you sew!!!
    Sincerely,
    Janis
(PS- The shop owner who carries sewing machines told me yesterday. I was very sad. He said once you come to his shop to do something special but unfortunately the show did not get much or any people. How said. Wish I knew about it. I would have been the first through the door!
It was on Sahara Avenue in the Vacuum and Sew shop.
