One of my favorite sewing projects was making my daughter’s FIrst Communion dress along with making a matching dress for her American GIrl Doll. It was a labor of love and will always cherish the memory.

I give holiday table runners as christmas gifts to family and friends. I laugh when I look at the first simple 2-sided runners I made when I started quilting in 2009. I always think to myself have far I have come since then… with the help of Nancy’s show/videos! Thank you!

My children each received one handmade gift from me each Christmas when they were little. One year I made them all a stuffed doll complete with clothing. It was especially dear to my youngest who slept with it for many years.

My favorite Christmas sewing project is Pillow Cases and pajamas!
I make a pocket in the pillowcase for the PJs. The nieces and nephews love them! They can carry both their pillow and PJs easily whenever they come to stay over, plus the indiviaul patterns make it easy to see which set belongs to whom!

Congrats to all of the winners!
I’ve been embroidering shirts and dresses for my great granddaughter. Plus I’ll be making blankets for the younger 3 grands. Always some kind of sewing at Christmas!

I made a doll carrier bed with matching quilt and pillow for a special little girl this Christmas. It turned out so cute with a ruffle around the outside top of it.

When my four kids were young I would make each a new pair of pajamas to wear on Christmas Eve. They were all different colors or styles from each year. We always took a group picture and of course saved the flannel scraps. I always sewed the pjs in secret.

Congratulations to all the winners! A big thank you for everyone entering and showing your creativity! I’ve made shape ornaments filled with batting. Our tree has crocheted, knitted, and sewn ornaments hanging from its branches. Each year, I find a new pattern or design to make and add to the collection.

Thanks so much for showing the great work of others. I totally enjoy seeing the ideas others have shared, and then making
them my own. It begins those creative juices running in
    my brain.
    Thanks.

My favorite Christmas sewing project is the mini stockings I make to hang on the tree. They are embroidered with various Christmas themes. So far I have made 5 sets of them (5 stockings per set) and have gave them all away as gifts. Hope to make myself a set someday.

When I was newly married we had a relatively unadorned tree…that is until I discovered ornaments that I could sew and stuff to hang on it! I made all the ornaments that I could find and learned lots of new techniques!

My favorite Christmas sewing projects are, without a doubt, clothes I have made my children. The one that has brought me joy for years is a dress I made for my oldest daughter about 25 years ago. It was a red dress with a white pinafore made from a Daisy Kingdom pattern so it was elaborate with ruffles and trims. My father loved when she came to the door wearing that dress and spoke of it so many times throughout the years. I just lost my father last month so I’ll be celebrating my first Christmas without him. I treasure memories such as this one, that I know brought him joy.

My grandkids still talk about the pillowcases I made for them one Christmas using individualized fabric!! They were so easy to make and fun too! I love giving handmade gifts!

    December 5, 2018

My brother-in-law passed away a few years ago, leaving his wife (my sister) and 14 children and grandchildren. As Christmas gifts from my sister to her family, I made each one of the children/grandchildren an apron from my brother-in-law’s shirts. After my mother passed away in 2014, I made each one of my sisters (6) a sewing kit and included a pin cushion made from my Mother’s favorite flannel sheets. Now, I try to continue passing along keepsakes as this for future Christmas gifts – always keeping the family member in our hearts.

I remember the Christmas that I made matching pjs and a holiday dress for my daughter and the brand new doll she got on Xmas morning. I remember how excited she was

  • Lettie Seamount

I make Christmas stockings for my daughter’s entire class every year and personalize each one by embroidering their names on them. I have been doing this for 14 years. She has former students who are young adults now who say they still have and cherish their stockings. I absolutely love doing this.

  • Diana Pals

I love making personalized pillowcases for niece and nephews each year, matching the fabric to their room decor or their interests that year. From cowboys to Disney to Star Wars, my sister says they have always loved their pillowcases!
