I love the little bags mad3 from the leftover sleeves! I’ve made other things from recycled tees but never thought of using that small bit of sleeve for some5hing. Brilliant!

LOVE the idea of recycling T-shirts! I hate to see anything go to waste. I’d make the quilt and the scarves and the necklace and the Read pillow. I think that the book would give me more ideas to really get me started on recycling all of the older t-shirts in the house!
    Way Cool!

The ideas of using T-shirts for all kinds of projects is a winner. i have been using T-shirts to make crocheted rag rugs – the ingenious way of cutting them into strips makes it so much easier. The rugs then are very absorbent, making them good for shower rugs. I love the idea of making them over for slip-covers holding books and such – great idea for a child’s corner of the library. I would love to win this book and CD.
    Thank you, Marjie

I have have many memory to shirts of my sons, who passed away four years ago. I have been struggling with what to do with them so this email is very timely. I’d love to make the rag quilt and then a necklace to keep him close. Thanks for the great ideas.

This looks like an awesome book! My daughter has been involved in many charity events which she received a lot of T-shirts and has asked me to make a quilt for her with them but I would add pillows also and would have lots of parts leftover to try the rest of the projects!

I love the t-shirt quilt! My husband and son have been saving their t-shirts from marathons and races they have ran for years. I keep promising to make a quilt from them and this has really inspired me!

This sounds like such a creative book! I have only heard of a memory quilt to ‘recycle’ all the t-shirts from our children’s growing up years, (which I’ve never made for them). This book offers ideas that seem less intimidating yet still a wonderful way to showcase all the memories wrapped in a t-shirt.

I think my favorite item from the book is the fringe on the sleepover bag. When I first saw it, I thought it must be difficult to do, but when I saw how Mary Mulari just laid a couple of extra pieces of t-shirt inside the bag before sewing, it was genius! Guess I’m a little slow, but it never dawned on me how easy it was to do! Thanks for the inspiration!! 🙂

Seems we all wear t-shirts these days, so I think it would be great fun to use saved favorites for the rag pillows to send a student off to the college dorms with. A touch of home and happy memories of their childhood could be very nice while stressing over mid-terms.

The rag quilt is a perfect way to utilize old T-shirts that hold meaning such as an event, special vacation place or membership on a team. The book would serve as a gateway to many more cherished memories!

I want to try the cut & roll necklaces, they seem to be a great summer project and will make a cool summer outfit a little classier. I’ve already made a memory quilt for my nephew as a Christmas present. He adores it and several his friends enjoy curling up in it when its chilly outside.

I would love to try the notched cowl scarf. It would be a perfect thing for cool evenings, could be made to be so colorful and comfortable, plus have so many uses such as a small shoulder wrap, head wrap in the wind among many other uses.

I would love to know how to make a T-shirt quilt for my granddaughter who is graduating next year. She is quite athletic, and has T-shirts from all kinds of tournaments. I could use the “leftovers” to make the pillows and bags as shown. I would really like to win this book. I’ve watched Sewing with Nancy on PBS since her earliest days.

    July 27, 2018

What a lovely book. I love all the projects. But what really caught my eye were the bags. I make little articles and give them to the hospital and nursing home thrift shops, they in turn give them to the residents/patients. They just love to have small bags to hold their precious articles close to them. The sleeve bag is small enough to slip under their pillows at night. The best part is I can buy or (as a volunteer at the thrift shop get free) some stained or holy T shirts. Very exciting book for me. So simple we wonder why we didn’t think of these. But you are the sewing genius. Thanks for all you do. I have been watching your show from the beginning.

Since I am starting a T-Shirt quilt for my grand daughter, the quilt process really interested me. I also have a T-Shirt from my husband when he ran his first and only marathon and I would like to make it into a pillow. Can’t wait to start these projects.

I really enjoyed reading about the book, enjoyed all the great n fun ideas. If i had to pick one item, oh my hard to say. I have done a t-shirt quilt before but would luv to see how Nancy does hers. But think the bag is my first item to try, luv the bag. Both my kids have luggages, but seems when we take weekend trips they serm to find the recycle grocery bags instead. Have to admit, it does embarrass me some, so making the bags n luggage tags would be great for both of them. Heck for me too…

Love these projects for make and take ideas for 4-H Clothing Revue activities! Thank you for the fringe quilt idea, I just cut 200 of my UW grad’s tshirts up. The leftover rings from the bottom of shirts I gave to 4-H club to braid and make dog toys for the humane shelter. They will have fun making necklaces and bags with the rest of the scraps!
